The Franchise network and tapas bar-restaurant, Bodega La Andaluza, which employs almost half a hundred workers in Andalusia, is studying proposals to open new locations in Malaga and Jerez.

Bodega La Andaluza has three establishments in Seville, opened in 1987, 1994 and 1997, respectively. The total investment of its openings was around 147,000 euros in the Hotel sector and the recruitment of 33 permanent employees, with an average age of 28 years.

In 2002, the popular and traditional cuisine of the typical wine cellars and restaurants of Seville located in Santa Aurelia, Dona Francisquita and Heliopolis resulted in a net profit of 348,000 euros. According to Diego Espinosa, director of
Expansion of the firm and shareholder, "It was thanks to the positive wellcoming of our business concept, that we began to receive proposals to set up our business in other locations, so that the same year we started our expansion in Andalusia and planned to open more franchises as well as constituted the mark Bodega La Andaluza. ".

In 2003, the chain reached a profit of 390,000 euros, equivalent to a growth of 12% of their earnings.

National Growth

The seven business partners of the firm, all of them from Andalusia, faced with optimism its expansion in the medium term throughout Spain. The opening on 15 July of a franchise in Isla Antilla has been a heartening takeoff: in just one month has
earned a net profit of 24,000 euros.

The inauguration of this restaurant on the coast of Huelva, which has created 11 jobs, has meant an investment of 110,000 euros. In early September the chain will open another establishment in the heart of Almeria, after an investment of 100,000
euros.

Espinosa says, without specifying date, that another inauguration has been signed already in Aguadulce-Almeria.
Apart from the proposals received to set up new franchises in Malaga and Jerez, Bodega La Andaluza is making projects outside the region: There will be "at least" two franchises by the end of this year in  Madrid and two others in Cataluņa, and it is considering another offer in Zaragoza.

International Expansion

Likewise, foreign entrepreneurs have already shown their interest in exporting the phrase "affordable and quality" of the Andalusian chain. Its Director of Expansion said to ABC, that in the long term, "it is very possible that we open a franchise in the area of  Algarve in Portugal. We are also considering to open another one in Germany, which would be managed by a Spanish person settled there ".

All openings of new establishments outside the Andalusian Community will lead to the diversification of the offer in the franchise chain. Diego Espinosa explains that the firm plans to incorporate Flamenco to its premises with an area of more than one hundred square meters.
